bixby highlanders soccerThe goal of the Bixby Highlanders Soccer Academy Program is to provide the developmental bridge between recreational soccer and competitive soccer through advanced training and development. This program focuses on player development in those critical early years. The Academy is for players who strive for professional training and higher‐level play.

With age specific professional instruction, players are presented with FUN soccer activities that involve competition by maximizing player development. The Academy is for those players who want to be challenged more than their current program and want to pursue competitive level soccer.

Academy FAQ's

What is the Highlanders Academy Program?
The Highlanders Academy is a developmental program held in an advanced learning environment. The program allows recreational players (pre‐competitive ages) to train and play with others of similar skills and abilities. This program is designed to challenge players according to their abilities to help them develop as a soccer player. The Academy is a great tool in preparing players for competitive soccer (U11+).

Should my child participate in a Soccer Academy?
The Academy is NOT for players that find recreational soccer difficult. The Academy presents greater challenges that meet player’s needs. It is for players who want to be challenged more than their current program and want to pursue competitive soccer.

Are there tryouts for the Academy?
There are no tryouts for the Academy program. Please see the previous question above to determine if the Academy is right for your child.

Where / When will Academy players participate in matches?
The Highlanders Academy currently participates in the Oklahoma Development League (ODL), which is comprised of other Academy programs around the area. This supports the goal of maximizing player development by playing other teams with like abilities. All ODL games are played at the Union Soccer Complex off 41st Street and 129th Street on Sunday afternoons.

There will be additional opportunities for the players to participated in tournaments, friendly matches, indoor, etc. These are determined by the coach and will be an additional cost.

Who are the coaches?
The coaches are provided & selected by Charlie Mitchell, Highlanders Director of Coaching, and Randy Totty, Highlanders Academy Director.
